JUNE

How is it already June?? May was busy and fun. I have been impressed with our weather...not crazy hot, even cool days and evenings. It's been beautiful! We've spent countless hours riding bikes, playing at parks, swimming at our pool, and hitting up the local splash pads.

About 2 weeks ago Jamie decided she could walk. For weeks we had been trying to get her to take more than 3 steps at a time and she refused.  I had no doubt that she could...but she had no desire. She's been walking everywhere since.  She can step over things, turn and go in different directions, and loves hearing Benjamin and I tell her good job! She thrives on praise. My favorite is when someone tells her she's pretty...she knows exactly what that means and gives you her beautiful smile and her sweet laugh.

We're back to pottey training Benjamin. I had started several weeks ago, but things go busy and after 4 days (and it was going really well) we stopped and I haven't felt recommitted so we haven't even attempted it again. Until today. Wish me luck!

They both are "swimming" well.  By swimming I mean they play great in the water and don't freak out when I dunk them, which I do every single time we're in the water. In fact, I try to dunk them between 3 and 4 times each time we're at the pool.

Our little family is just in a really great place. We feel very blessed and very happy. We leave for Colorado in less than a month and we are excited to see friends and family. Our 4th anniversary is this Thursday and we're going to Dallas for the weekend for a quick getaway. Bryan kept asking me what I wanted and the only thing that came to mind was sleep.  I just want to lay in bed, in the morning, and not feel like I have to rush to get the screaming baby. We found a great hotel and I told Bryan to book it. We've never left our kids overnight. I've only spent 2 nights away from Benjamin and that was when I had Jamie.  So a quick weekend away seems perfect for our first time away from both of them!
