I am a sleep natzi. Seriously. My whole world revolves around my children's nap times and bed time. They are such delightful children and I swear it has to do with their sleep. When they don't get enough sleep they are horrible children. They are on different schedules and while I may not be able to leave my house a ton, I love the one on one time I get with my both of my kids.
Jamie wakes up between 6:30 and 7:15. We play until Benjamin wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00. We all hang out, usually outside, until 10:30ish, when Jamie goes down for her morning nap. From 10:30-12, Benjamin and I do "big" kid stuff. Puzzles that have too many little pieces for Jamie, flashcards, we bake, or have uninterrupted train time (his most favorite inside time activity). Jamie wakes up, we have lunch together, play together, and then Benjamin goes down for his nap from 2-5:30ish. For a little over an hour, Jamie and I have our serious together play time (cause sometimes this mommy doesn't really get too happy for our 6:30am play date!) before her nap from 3:30-5ish. Her favorite things to do include dancing, pulling all the books off the bookshelf, and playing with Benjamin's stuff without getting into trouble.
That was the case today. My sister, Christine, made Benjamin a train bag, to hold all his little trains. And Jamie tries to get that bag all day long. And for a short hour, I let her play with it and be in her happy place. We call Jamie 'Godzillia" sometimes, cause she always finds her way to Benjamin's train track and tears it apart. And again, during Benjamin's naptime, I let her go wild and tear it apart and never once tell her no. I love these little moments in my children's life. The moments that make their heart sing.
